Who runs Nod

Nod is an independent project based in Lagos, Nigeria. It is not a registered company. The service is operated by a single builder. Questions can be sent to hello@support.seofg.xyz.

Who can use Nod

You must be at least 13 years old to use Nod. By creating an account, you confirm that you meet this requirement. Nod is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If we become aware that a user is under 13, that account will be removed.

Your account

Nod uses Google OAuth for sign-in. You are responsible for your account and for everything that happens under it. Keep your Google credentials secure. If you think your account has been compromised, sign out and contact Google to secure your account.

You can delete your account at any time by contacting us directly. When you do, your profile, recommendations, and activity are removed.

What you can and can't do

You can:

• Create circles, send Nods, and use the app for personal, non-commercial use.
• Share your public profile link and Nod Card with anyone.
• Save titles to your library and track what you've watched or read.

You cannot:

• Use Nod to harass, threaten, or abuse other users.
• Post content that is illegal, harmful, or infringes on anyone else's rights.
• Scrape, copy, or systematically extract data from the service.
• Try to reverse-engineer, interfere with, or compromise the platform's infrastructure.
• Create fake accounts or impersonate someone else.
• Use Nod for any commercial purpose without prior written agreement.

We reserve the right to remove content or suspend accounts that violate these rules, at our discretion, without notice.

Your content

The recommendations, notes, and profile information you create on Nod remain yours. By posting content on Nod, you give us a limited licence to store and display it as part of the service — for example, showing your recommendations to circle members, or your public profile to anyone who visits your card link.

We do not sell your content. We do not use it to train AI models. We do not share it with third parties for advertising.

Third-party services

Nod pulls film and series data from TMDB and book data from Google Books. This data is provided for convenience and may not always be accurate or complete. We are not responsible for errors in third-party catalog data.

Authentication is handled through Google. Your use of Google services is governed by Google's own terms and privacy policy.

Infrastructure runs on Supabase and Vercel. Both are covered by their respective terms of service.

The service as it is

Nod is provided as-is. We make no guarantees about uptime, accuracy, or continued availability. The service may change, go offline, or be discontinued at any time. We will try to give reasonable notice when that happens, but we are not obligated to.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted under Nigerian law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Nod — including loss of data, lost recommendations, or any disruption to the service.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of Nigerian courts.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, the date at the top of this page will change. Continued use of Nod after changes are posted means you accept the updated terms.
