Most recommendations vanish. A link in a chat, a title mentioned at dinner — gone by morning. Nod gives them somewhere to live, and gives you a record of every one you've made.
Circles, not feeds.
You start a circle — a private space for a person, a group, or anyone whose taste you trust. It's not a social feed. There's no algorithm deciding what gets seen. It's just the people you chose, and what you've passed on to each other.
Circles can be collaborative (everyone sends Nods) or curated (only you do, and the rest watch and rate). Both work. Pick the one that fits.
A Nod is a recommendation with weight.
When you send a Nod, you're not just sharing a link. You're putting your name on it. You can send it to the whole circle or directly to one person. You can add a note — why this one, why now, watch it alone or together.
The person on the other end can mark it done, leave a rating, and move on. Simple. No threading, no likes, no noise.
Your Nod Score is earned, not given.
Every time someone completes a Nod you sent, your score goes up. Every Nod you complete earns points too — weighted by how you rated it. The score can't be farmed by spamming sends. It only moves when a second person's action confirms that what you shared was worth their time.
Your score breaks down into what you sent, what you received, what happened in public circles, and what happened in private ones.
The Nod Card is your record.
Every user gets a card. It shows your name, your score breakdown, and your tier. You can share it — there's a public link at nod.site/u/your-handle — or keep it to yourself. It's yours either way.
As your score grows, your tier moves: New → Member → Rising → Gold. It's not a leaderboard. It's a record of taste in action.
Films, series, books.
The catalog covers movies and TV via TMDB, and books via Google Books. If it's in those databases, you can Nod it. Search, find, send.
Your library is separate from your circles — save anything to come back to later, track what you're watching, mark what's done. It's your personal shelf, no circle required.

Nod is an independent project. No VC backing, no growth team, no engagement metrics optimized for time-on-app. It exists because the builder wanted a better way to share what he was watching with people he actually knew.
